Remove autorun.inf after a virus clean up

Did you ever clean up a system and realised that when you click on a drive icon the drive does not open ? well it could be because a rouge autorun.inf file in the root directory of the drive could be the problem. It could be a Hard Drive ( Internal / External) or a Pen Drive

To clean it just follow the simple steps below

  1. Click start and then run
  2. Type “cmd” without the quote symbols to open up the command prompt.
  3. then type “c:\” without the quote symbols :-) or any other drive letter you need to
  4. Then type “attrib -s -h -r autorun.inf “ without the quote symbols
  5. This will remove the system and hidden property of the file
  6. Then type “del autorun.inf” without the quote symbols
  7. Now restart your PC / eject and reinsert your Pen Drive and you should be good to go
