Did you ever clean up a system and realised that when you click on a drive icon the drive does not open ? well it could be because a rouge autorun.inf file in the root directory of the drive could be the problem. It could be a Hard Drive ( Internal / External) or a Pen Drive
To clean it just follow the simple steps below
- Click start and then run
- Type “cmd” without the quote symbols to open up the command prompt.
- then type “c:\” without the quote symbols :-) or any other drive letter you need to
- Then type “attrib -s -h -r autorun.inf “ without the quote symbols
- This will remove the system and hidden property of the file
- Then type “del autorun.inf” without the quote symbols
- Now restart your PC / eject and reinsert your Pen Drive and you should be good to go
